G-Scrap Collection is a compact VR scavenging experience designed for short play sessions. In G-Scrap Collection you take the role of a space cleaner gathering scattered star fragments after a stellar collision, and G-Scrap Collection emphasizes tactile, hand-driven interactions with purchasable tools and a full thirty-minute recorded gameplay preview for non-VR viewers.
The core loop is straightforward and tactile: reach, grab, and sort debris by hand or with tools. Motion controls are optimized for VR headsets that support hand tracking or standard controllers, letting you physically pick up star shards, swing a Magic Rod, or latch onto distant scrap with a Hookshot. Movement is intentionally simple to reduce motion sickness and to keep the focus on collection and recycling. Tool use requires basic timing and aim, while recycling materials uses short, satisfying manual interactions or tool-assisted processes.
Progression in the game centers on collecting scrap and converting raw materials into currency. Recycle shards and debris to earn gold, then spend that gold at the quirky alien neighbor who sells utility tools and upgrades. Tool upgrades improve reach, retrieval speed, and recycling efficiency, offering a clear sense of advancement across short play sessions. Unlockable content such as collectible images and character interactions appear as progression rewards, giving players optional goals to pursue beyond the primary salvage loop.
The visual presentation blends compact 3D environments with distinctive 2D art accents from the jam team, producing a cohesive aesthetic that is colorful and approachable. Lighting and particle effects give star fragments a satisfying shimmer when collected, while the alien neighbor and two android characters are presented with stylized character art rather than explicit imagery. Audio design focuses on responsive, tactile cues and a light ambient soundtrack that supports immersion without overwhelming short play sessions.
Levels are built as compact scenarios suited to the game jam origin: quick to learn and quick to play. Each stage introduces new debris patterns, gravity quirks, or environmental hazards that alter how you plan retrievals. Replay value comes from optimizing collection routes, experimenting with different tool loadouts, and completing optional objectives to unlock more collectibles. The included thirty-minute recorded gameplay preview allows players to scope out the overall structure and replayability before committing to VR play.
Customization focuses on practical upgrades rather than extensive cosmetics: different tools and tool upgrades change how you interact with the environment, and choosing tools effectively becomes part of the challenge. Difficulty scales by increasing debris density, introducing unstable fragments, and timing-based retrieval tasks. These challenge systems encourage short, focused runs and reward precision and planning over long grind sessions.
Designed with accessibility in mind, the game supports seated and standing play modes and keeps locomotion options minimal to reduce motion discomfort. The recorded gameplay preview acts as an accessibility checkpoint for players who do not have a headset. Once installed, the experience can be played offline; the game does not require persistent online connectivity for its core mechanics. Input tuning and simple control schemes make it approachable for newcomers to VR while still offering depth for repeat play.
Because G-Scrap Collection began as a two-week jam project, expect a compact scope and occasional rough edges. The build is intended primarily for VR headsets; running on unsupported devices may require manual sideloading and additional setup. The title includes adult-themed character interactions presented in a neutral, non-explicit way and optional collectible scenes that some users may find mature. Players should be aware that the jam nature of the project means there may be occasional bugs or polish issues.
G-Scrap Collection was developed by a small team during a two-week game jam. FractalStella led programming and 3D work while contributing 2D art, MissPauline provided additional 2D art and modeling, and Jayari handled audio. The team appreciates community feedback and suggestions and encourages players to report issues or ideas to help guide future updates or expanded builds.
